Company Mission to Bulgaria in the Field of Performing Arts (10-11 October 2011)

About the event
The event aims at presenting to the representatives of performing arts industries the palette of cooperation opportunities in the field of performing arts, focusing on the establishment of contacts among companies, negotiating and/or exchanging guest performances and/or initiating co-productions, as well as any other cooperation forms within the interest of the participants.
The company mission is targeted to the following areas:
Theatre and theatre festivals;
Music festivals (classics, jazz);
Music stage arts (opera, dance, classics, cross-over, jazz, art rock…);
Scenic design;
Others (sound, digital processing, multimedia) related to performing arts.
No participation fee is required for the event. Participating small and medium companies cover their travel and accommodation costs. The maximum number of foreign participants for this event is 15. Registrations will be validated on the first come – first served principle.
Performing arts in the hosting city – Ruse, Bulgaria
The region is famous for its performing arts traditions. Ruse Region has one of the oldest theatre traditions in Bulgaria. The Ruse Drama Theatre “Sava Ognianov” is one of the most prominent professional casts in Bulgaria. Ruse Theatre has had successful guest performances in Russia, Poland, Latvia, Romania, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Turkey. In the recent years the theatre stage in Ruse is welcoming as well international festivals with participation of casts from the countries on the Danube River and the Balkan region.
The first international music festival in Bulgaria - March Music Days - was established upon the initiative and the organization of Ruse Philharmonic. The festival is attracting some of the best musicians in Bulgaria and Europe on its stage every year.
The Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra has also hosted the famous Russian composer Dmitry Shostakovich in 1958 and in 1965.
The city is also hosting events such as Ruse Rock Weekend, Green Rock Fest, BlueZZ Fest, and National Jazz Meeting.
