The traditional heavy industry has disappeared during the last two decades in all five regions therefore ’cluster’ may be the catchword for the future, as an industry-like formation operated by the cooperation of SME’s which can be effective in areas like culture.
The management of the South Transdanubian Cultural Industry Cluster (STCIC) held a news briefing at Nádor Gallery on Monday, where János Keresnyei project manager said that the Creative Cities, the Alliance of Creative Cities can give opportunity to Pécs for being not only a traditional culture-based city but to increase the chance to make living from local cultural activities as well.

Based on the analysis, the chances to achieve this are good after the termination of the Year of being the Cultural Capital of Europe, and the city should not let this being passed. This is the only way to make the youth not to move off; the University and the Municipality of Pécs should also support this creative solution.
